One wrong date can cost a whole trip.
Errors and omissions, cyber, crime and general liability for travel agencies, independent travel advisors and sports and event ticket agencies.

Bookings, passports and client money
A travel agent's biggest risk is a mistake: a wrong travel date, a missed passport or visa warning, a cruise booked without the insurance the client asked about. Agencies also hold client payments and passport details, which makes them a target for fraud and data theft. California requires sellers of travel to register with the Attorney General's office.
I place agencies with professional liability as the core, then add cyber and crime for the money and data you handle, and general liability for the office or storefront. Ticket agencies get the same review, with a closer look at refunds and event cancellations.
- Errors and omissionsClaims from booking mistakes and bad advice.
- Cyber liabilityStolen client data, passports and card details.
- CrimeEmployee theft and fraudulent payment instructions.
- General liabilityVisitors hurt at your office or events.
What underwriters will ask
Having these ready means I can go to market on the first call. The quote form asks for the same things, and anything you don’t know yet can wait.
- Agency: location, years in business and seller of travel registration.
- Business mix: leisure, corporate, groups, cruises or tickets.
- Tours: whether you operate or lead any tours yourself.
- Money: how client payments are collected and held.
- Revenue and staff: annual commissions or sales and headcount.
- History: current policies and any complaints or claims.
Travel agency insurance, answered
Does my host agency's E&O cover me?
Sometimes, but often with shared limits or gaps for independent advisors. Send me the host agreement and I'll show you where it stops.
Is a supplier going bankrupt covered?
Supplier failure is often excluded or limited on travel agent E&O. Ask before you assume, and I'll find policies that address it where available.
Do I need different coverage if I lead tours?
Yes. Leading or operating tours adds bodily injury exposure that a booking-only E&O policy may not cover.
What does California require of travel sellers?
Sellers of travel register with the California Attorney General's office and show the registration number in advertising. Insurance is separate, and I help with that part.
Do you offer travel agency insurance outside California?
Yes. Clients across the country send the same quote form. Sam Alishahi is licensed in 48 states and Washington, DC and places policies there directly. In Florida and Washington, where Sam's licenses are still being issued, a partner agency in your state helps in the meantime. The shopping across carriers works the same way. Rules, minimums and markets differ by state — see insurance requirements by state.
Tell me how you book. I'll shop it.
Your business mix, revenue and how you handle client payments are enough to start.
