How it works

Professional and business risks together

A dental practice needs malpractice for its dentists and a business package for the office: equipment, build-out, business income and liability for patients who aren't in the chair.

Practices also hold patient health and payment data and employ staff, so cyber and employment practices coverage matter. I shop all of it together.

  • Dental malpracticeClaims from treatment.
  • Business owner's policyEquipment, build-out and business income.
  • Cyber liabilityPatient records and payment data.
  • EPLIClaims from employees.

Before you call

What underwriters will ask

Having these ready means I can go to market on the first call. The quote form asks for the same things, and anything you don’t know yet can wait.

Start the Quote Form

  • Practice: specialty, locations and years open.
  • Providers: dentists, hygienists and assistants.
  • Procedures: sedation and surgical work.
  • Office: equipment and build-out values.
  • Revenue and payroll: annual figures.
  • History: current policies and claims.
Questions

Dental practice insurance, answered

Does sedation affect malpractice?

Yes. Oral and IV sedation are rated separately and must be disclosed.

Is a business owner's policy enough for the office?

For most practices it covers property and general liability. Malpractice, cyber and EPLI are separate.

Are associates covered?

Employed dentists can be added. Independent associates often carry their own malpractice.

What happens when I retire?

Claims-made malpractice needs tail coverage. Ask before you sell or retire.

Do you offer dental practice insurance outside California?

Yes. Clients across the country send the same quote form. California policies are placed directly; outside California the request is handled together with a partner agency in your state, and the shopping across carriers works the same way. Rules, minimums and markets differ by state — see insurance requirements by state.
