When standard auto stops fitting
Many standard auto carriers cap the vehicle values they'll write or settle total losses at depreciated values. Exotic and high-performance cars, custom builds and large collections often fall outside their rules.
Specialty programs write physical damage for high-value cars, including excess coverage above your standard policy, and can consider drivers other carriers decline. Unlike collector car policies, many allow regular driving.
- Physical damageCollision, theft, fire, flood and earthquake.
- High valuesCars other carriers cap or decline.
- Excess coverageAbove your standard auto policy's limits.
- SchedulesSeveral cars on one policy.
What underwriters will ask
Having these ready means I can go to market on the first call. The quote form asks for the same things, and anything you don’t know yet can wait.
- Vehicles: year, make, model, VIN and value.
- Drivers: names, license numbers and driving records.
- Use: daily, weekend, shows or track.
- Storage: where the cars are kept.
- Current policy: carrier and limits.
- History: accidents or claims.
High-value auto insurance, answered
How is this different from collector car insurance?
Collector policies usually limit driving. High-value auto programs are built for cars you drive regularly.
Is track use covered?
Usually not. Track days generally need separate coverage.
Can drivers with tickets get coverage?
Some specialty programs consider drivers standard carriers decline. I'll check.
What about liability?
Liability often stays on your standard auto policy, with high-value physical damage and an umbrella above it.
Do you offer high-value auto insurance outside California?
Yes. Clients across the country send the same quote form. California policies are placed directly; outside California the request is handled together with a partner agency in your state, and the shopping across carriers works the same way. Rules, minimums and markets differ by state — see insurance requirements by state or high-value home insurance by state.
Send the cars. I'll shop it.
Year, make, model and value for each car are enough to start.
