How it works

Your venue, their events

Venues host weddings, parties and corporate events with large crowds and alcohol. Claims come from falls, fights, over-serving and damage, and many standard carriers exclude assault and battery.

I place venues with carriers that write the class, and set up the certificate requirements for renters and outside caterers, so their policies respond first.

  • General liabilityGuest injuries and property damage.
  • Liquor liabilityWhen the venue sells or serves.
  • Assault and batteryFights and security incidents.
  • PropertyBuilding, furniture, sound and lighting.

Before you call

What underwriters will ask

Having these ready means I can go to market on the first call. The quote form asks for the same things, and anything you don’t know yet can wait.

Start the Quote Form

  • Venue: address, capacity and building ownership.
  • Events: number per year and types.
  • Alcohol: sold by the venue or served by caterers.
  • Security: staff or licensed guards.
  • Revenue and payroll: annual figures.
  • History: current policies and loss runs.
Questions

Event venue insurance, answered

Should I require renters to carry insurance?

Most venues do. A renter's event policy naming the venue as additional insured responds first when a guest is hurt.

Is assault and battery covered?

Not always. Many policies exclude it. Venues with alcohol should make sure it's included.

Do outside caterers need their own policies?

Yes. Require their liability and liquor certificates before each event.

Is equipment covered?

Property coverage protects furniture, sound and lighting you own.

Do you offer event venue and banquet hall insurance outside California?

Yes. Clients across the country send the same quote form. California policies are placed directly; outside California the request is handled together with a partner agency in your state, and the shopping across carriers works the same way. Rules, minimums and markets differ by state — see insurance requirements by state.

Send the venue details. I'll shop it.

Capacity, events per year and how alcohol is served are enough to start.
