Paper, presses and pallets.

Property, equipment breakdown, product liability, workers' comp and transit coverage for paper, packaging, envelope, stationery and greeting card manufacturers.

How it works

Combustible stock, fast machines

Paper and cardboard burn fast, so fire is the main property concern, and paper dust adds to it. Die cutters, folders and printing presses cause hand and arm injuries, and forklifts move heavy rolls and loaded pallets.

Insurers look closely at sprinklers, housekeeping and storage heights. I place paper and packaging plants with property and business income sized for a long rebuild, product liability for packaging used by food and retail customers, and workers' comp written by job.

Before you call

What underwriters will ask

Having these ready means I can go to market on the first call. The quote form asks for the same things, and anything you don’t know yet can wait.

Start the Quote Form

  • Plant: address, construction and sprinklers.
  • Products: what you make and who buys it.
  • Machinery: presses, die cutters and their values.
  • Storage: rack heights and roll storage.
  • Payroll: by job.
  • History: current policies and claims.
Questions

Packaging manufacturer insurance, answered

Why do sprinklers matter so much?

Paper and cardboard fires spread fast. Insurers often price or limit property based on sprinklers and how high stock is stacked.

Do food packaging buyers require extra coverage?

Often higher product liability limits and additional insured status. Food-contact packaging brings extra underwriting questions.

Is a press breakdown covered?

Equipment breakdown often covers sudden failure and the income lost during repair, subject to the policy terms.

Are shipments to customers covered?

Goods in transit can be added. Your terms of sale decide when the customer takes the risk.

Do you offer packaging manufacturer insurance outside California?

Yes. Clients across the country send the same quote form. Sam Alishahi is licensed in 48 states and Washington, DC and places policies there directly. In Florida and Washington, where Sam's licenses are still being issued, a partner agency in your state helps in the meantime. The shopping across carriers works the same way. Rules, minimums and markets differ by state — see insurance requirements by state.
