About

Sam Alishahi, independent insurance broker.

I place home, rental, commercial and business insurance for clients across California from my office at 439 N Canon Dr in Beverly Hills, hold nonresident licenses in 44 other states and Washington, DC, and, together with partner agencies, serve clients in every other state. I work for my clients, not for an insurance company.

How I work

A broker who knows the closing table

As an independent broker, no insurance company owns my book or tells me what to sell. I shop each risk with the admitted carriers, wholesalers and specialty markets I'm appointed with, and I tell you plainly what each option covers and leaves out.

I'm also a licensed California real estate broker and mortgage loan originator. I've worked in California real estate since 2014, so I know what the escrow officer and the lender's insurance desk will ask for, and I get the evidence of insurance, mortgagee clause and loss payee right the first time.

Every quote request comes to me personally. Calls and texts to (424) 552-4545 are answered around the clock, and the office is open Monday to Friday, 9 to 6.

“I’ve worked with Sam on insurance for multiple properties, and what I appreciate most is that he doesn’t take a one size fits all approach. He takes the time to understand the property, the situation, and what you actually need.”

Mohammad M. · Google review, October 2026

“I had a great experience working with Saman on my California FAIR Plan. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made the whole process very easy.”

What I place most

The risks clients bring me

Homes the regular market turned down

Canyon and hillside homes in brush areas, placed with the California FAIR Plan and a difference-in-conditions policy for what the FAIR Plan leaves out, or with specialty carriers when they'll take it. See details

High-value homes, often held in a trust or LLC

Homes insured from the real cost to rebuild, with the ownership, lender and umbrella lined up so a claim doesn't turn into a coverage dispute. See details

Investors and landlords

Rentals, apartment buildings, mixed-use and commercial buildings leased to tenants, including properties on bridge and construction loans. See details

Contractors and small businesses

General liability, workers' comp, bonds and property for contractors, professional firms and property owners' companies. See details

How requests outside California work

Every quote request on this site comes to me first, wherever the home, vehicle or business is. In California and the 44 other states and Washington, DC where I hold a nonresident license, I handle it myself. For a risk in any other state I bring in a partner agency there, because the carriers and the rules that matter are theirs. You hear from me before you hear from anyone else, and the partner only reaches out once I have said so.

I stay your point of contact: I review the proposal before it reaches you, and I am the one you call with questions. What the partner receives is your name, your contact details and the information you gave about the risk, and nothing else. The privacy policy says the same thing in more formal language.

Editorial standard

How these pages are written

Every rule, deadline, form number and statute on this site comes from an official or primary source, and each page names its sources at the bottom: state insurance departments and statutes, the DMV, CSLB, FEMA, HUD, FMCSA, carrier filings and the like. If I cannot point to a source, the claim does not go on the page.

I write the pages and re-check them against those sources; the Reviewed date under a page title is the last time its facts were gone over. Nothing here is a quote or a promise of coverage, and no page states prices, because what a policy costs depends on the risk and the market on the day it is quoted.

The phone, text and chat assistant collects the details a quote needs and answers general questions. It does not quote, bind or change coverage; I do, in writing. If you find an error on any page, email [email protected] and I will fix it.
