Coverage for the clinic and the care.
Professional liability for therapists, general liability for the clinic, and property and workers' comp, for physical therapy, occupational therapy and rehab practices.

Two kinds of liability
Professional liability covers claims that treatment injured a patient. General liability covers injuries that aren't about care, such as a fall in the waiting room. A clinic needs both.
Because therapy is hands-on, many policies also include or add abuse and molestation coverage. I place clinics with medical programs that write therapy practices, including home visits.
- Professional liabilityClaims arising from treatment.
- General liabilityFalls and injuries at the clinic.
- Abuse and molestationHands-on care exposure.
- PropertyEquipment, tables and build-out.
What underwriters will ask
Having these ready means I can go to market on the first call. The quote form asks for the same things, and anything you don’t know yet can wait.
- Practice: type, address and years open.
- Staff: licensed therapists, assistants and aides.
- Volume: patient visits per week.
- Services: clinic, home visits or aquatic therapy.
- Revenue and payroll: annual figures.
- History: current policies and claims.
Physical therapy clinic insurance, answered
Do my therapists need their own malpractice policies?
The clinic's policy can cover employed therapists. Independent contractors often carry their own; I'll check your contracts.
Is abuse and molestation coverage necessary?
For hands-on care, many clinics carry it, and some policies include it at a set limit.
Are home visits covered?
They can be. Disclose them so the policy covers care outside the clinic.
What about the clinic's equipment?
Property coverage protects tables, modalities and build-out.
Do you offer physical therapy clinic insurance outside California?
Yes. Clients across the country send the same quote form. California policies are placed directly; outside California the request is handled together with a partner agency in your state, and the shopping across carriers works the same way. Rules, minimums and markets differ by state — see insurance requirements by state.
Send the practice details. I'll shop it.
Your staff count, visits and revenue are enough to start.
