A small footprint, full coverage.
General liability with mall certificates, coverage for stock and the cart, product liability and workers' comp for mall kiosks, retail carts and seasonal pop-ups.

The lease writes the requirements
A mall won't hand over the keys to a kiosk without a certificate. The license agreement usually lists the limits, names the mall owner and manager as additional insured and asks for a waiver of subrogation. Many kiosk leases run only a few months, so timing matters.
Behind the paperwork are real risks: shoppers tripping over displays, products that injure someone after the sale, and stock left in a locked cart overnight. I place general and product liability, coverage for inventory and the cart itself, and workers' comp for staff.
- General liabilityShopper injuries at your kiosk.
- Product liabilityItems you sell, often imported.
- Stock and cartInventory, displays and the cart.
- Workers' compStaff working your shifts.
What underwriters will ask
Having these ready means I can go to market on the first call. The quote form asks for the same things, and anything you don’t know yet can wait.
- Location: mall name and lease dates.
- Requirements: the mall's insurance section.
- Products: what you sell and where it's made.
- Demos: any product use on shoppers.
- Stock: inventory and cart values.
- Staff: employees and payroll.
Kiosk insurance, answered
The mall sent insurance requirements. What do I send back?
A certificate that matches them: limits, additional insured names and wording, and waiver of subrogation. Send me the page and I'll build the policy to fit.
Is stock in a locked cart covered overnight?
Theft is often covered when the cart is locked, subject to the policy. Some policies set conditions for property left outside a building, so I check the wording for a mall setting.
My lease is only for the holidays. Can I insure just that?
Short-term coverage is available, but many markets write a full year. If you plan to come back next season, an annual policy can be simpler.
Do product demos change my coverage?
Yes. Applying products to shoppers, such as skin care, threading or massage devices, is a service exposure and needs to be disclosed.
Do you offer kiosk insurance outside California?
Yes. Clients across the country send the same quote form. Sam Alishahi is licensed in 48 states and Washington, DC and places policies there directly. In Florida and Washington, where Sam's licenses are still being issued, a partner agency in your state helps in the meantime. The shopping across carriers works the same way. Rules, minimums and markets differ by state — see insurance requirements by state.
