Weddings, venues and the drive home
When a guest leaves an event drunk and causes a crash or a fight, the bartender is one of the first people named. Liquor liability is the coverage built for that, and most venues won't let you set up without it.
Mobile bars also travel. Converted horse trailers and vintage trucks need commercial auto, and the bar gear needs coverage on the road. I issue venue certificates quickly so bookings don't stall.

What underwriters will ask
Having these ready means I can go to market on the first call. The quote form asks for the same things, and anything you don’t know yet can wait.
- Business: events booked each year.
- Alcohol: who buys it, you or the host.
- Staff: bartenders and RBS training.
- Vehicles: bar trailers and tow vehicles.
- Revenue and payroll: annual figures.
- History: current policies and claims.
Mobile bartender insurance, answered
Do I need liquor liability if the host buys the alcohol?
Usually, yes. You're still the one serving, and venues usually require it.
Do I need an ABC license?
It depends on who sells the alcohol. The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control can tell you what your setup needs.
Can I add a venue as additional insured?
Yes. Most venues ask for it, and I issue the certificate.
Does Responsible Beverage Service training matter?
California requires RBS certification for alcohol servers and their managers at on-premises licensed businesses, and insurers ask about it.
Why might my policy be surplus lines?
Liquor liability for event bars is often written by surplus lines markets. I'll tell you before you buy.
Do you offer mobile bartender insurance outside California?
Yes. Clients across the country send the same quote form. Sam Alishahi is licensed in 48 states and Washington, DC and places policies there directly. In Florida and Washington, where Sam's licenses are still being issued, a partner agency in your state helps in the meantime. The shopping across carriers works the same way. Rules, minimums and markets differ by state — see insurance requirements by state.
