Short answer: New Mexico's life insurance disclosure rule lets insurers deliver the buyer's guide with the policy only if the policy carries an unconditional refund provision of at least 10 days.
This guide is general consumer information for New Mexico life insurance buyers. It isn't legal advice or a coverage determination. Policy wording, underwriting and the statutes linked below control.
The 10-day refund rule
New Mexico's life insurance disclosure rule, 13.9.5 NMAC, requires the buyer's guide before you pay the initial premium, unless the policy contains an unconditional refund provision of at least ten (10) days; then the guide may come with the policy. Check your policy's face page for the refund window and return it in writing within that time if you change your mind.
