Tool · Appetite lookup from the insurance company directory

Who's likely to insure me?

Describe what you need insured, where it is, and anything that made it hard (a claim, a non-renewal, an old roof, a new business, a vacant building). The assistant checks which companies are licensed for it in your state, who actually writes it there, which surplus lines insurers take it, what the carriers' published rules say, and the market of last resort — then tells you who is likely to consider it and why.

Standard (admitted) companies first, then surplus lines, then the plan of last resort. It names only companies in the public data, says "likely", never a price, and ends with the free quote request that sends your application to those markets. I'm licensed in 48 states and Washington, DC and your request stays with my agency, not passed to another agent. In Florida and Washington, where my licenses are still being issued, a partner agency in your state helps in the meantime.

Describe it

Your situation

Don't include Social Security, license, bank or card numbers. Nothing here is saved to a file about you; the request is read, answered and forgotten.

How it decides

The answer comes from the insurance company directory: every property and casualty insurer on the state regulators' public lists (admitted or surplus lines, by state), the premium each writes by line where the regulator publishes it, the NAIC's top insurer groups per state and line, carriers' own published appetite guides, and each state's market of last resort. The assistant reads your description for the line of insurance, the state and the facts an underwriter would weigh (claims, cancellations, age, occupancy, hazards), then ranks the companies that fit: those licensed and actually writing the line in your state first, then surplus lines insurers for risks the standard market turns down, then the last-resort plan if nothing else would.

It can be wrong. A company's appetite changes, and the final answer always comes from an underwriter after an application. What the tool gives you is a short list worth trying and the reasons, so the quote request goes to the right places the first time.

Ready?

Send it once. I place it.

The quote request takes a few minutes; it goes to the markets that fit, and the companies answer by email. Hard-to-place risks are the normal day here.
