Who writes workers' compensation in New Jersey
Top insurer groups from the NAIC market share report; the state's list carries no lines of authority.
New Jersey Manufacturers Group wrote the most workers' compensation in New Jersey in 2025, $390.5M and 15.1% of the state's premium; the top five groups hold 51%. New Jersey's company list doesn't say which lines each company is licensed for, so the ranking below is the NAIC's top 10 groups; every licensed company is on the New Jersey page.

Method and source
Source: the New Jersey insurance regulator company list, read 2026-10-18 and the surplus lines list. Admitted list 'Licensed Insurance Carriers' (Last-Modified: Sat, 17 Oct 2026 15:16:06 GMT) covers every licensed carrier of every kind (P&C, life, health, title, fraternal, HMO...). It gives name, address, phone, NAIC number only: no company type, no lines, no domicile, no license date, so everything is kept and type/lines/domicile/since are empty; filter P&C by NAIC code against another source. Extra fields addr_state/address/phone are the mailing address on the list, not the state of domicile. 25 rows show 'NAIC No. 0' on the list (managed-care / medical-review vendors and purchasing alliances, not insurers) and are kept with naic=''. 6 exact repeats (same NAIC + name, second address) were collapsed to one row. White list prints the same NAIC code for more than one company (kept as printed, verify before matching): 13064 = Tudor Insurance Co. / United National Insurance Co.. Surplus Lines White List dated 2026-09-16: 219 foreign/domestic eligible insurers with 5-digit NAIC codes (domicile NJ set only for the domestic section; foreign rows have no domicile on the list) and 95 alien insurers carried with naic='' and their NAIC IID/AIN number in the extra 'ain' field. 'eligible' is filled only where a footnote gives an approval effective date (this release's additions); other rows have no date on the list. Footnote markers like (A-3)/(NC-3) are stripped from names. "Premium" is direct premium written in the state for the year shown; "share" is that company's part of the state total for the line. A company can be licensed for a line and write none of it, and a surplus lines insurer can write a line without a state license for it.

Someone will insure it. I find who.
Send what you need covered and what happened before. I match it to the companies that take it, down to the last-resort plan if it comes to that. I'm licensed in 48 states and Washington, DC and your request stays with my agency, not passed to another agent. In Florida and Washington, where my licenses are still being issued, a partner agency in your state helps in the meantime.
