Every property and casualty insurer admitted in Maine and every eligible surplus lines insurer, with NAIC numbers, the lines each is licensed for, who writes the most of each line, and the market of last resort when nobody else will.
Maine's regulator doesn't publish a company list that can be read by machine (or it's behind a CAPTCHA or terms that bar automated use), so this page shows what public sources do say: 193 sureties licensed in Maine per the U.S. Treasury, 4 insurers domiciled here, the state's markets of last resort, and each company's standing in the states that do publish lists.

Companies on the U.S. Treasury's Circular 570 (acceptable sureties on federal bonds) that list a Maine license, with each one's federal underwriting limit.
4 property and casualty insurers have their home office in Maine. Each company page shows where it is admitted or eligible for surplus lines among the states whose lists are loaded.

Maine publishes its company list through a lookup that can't be read by a program, so the table above is built from the other states' lists, NAIC numbers, the U.S. Treasury's surety list and market share reports. A company missing here may still be licensed in Maine; check the regulator's lookup. Lines are the regulator's licensed lines grouped into common names; a license to write a line doesn't mean a company sells it to every kind of customer. "Admitted" means licensed by the state and backed by its guaranty fund; "surplus lines" means eligible to take risks the admitted market declines, without rate or form approval and without guaranty fund protection.

Send what you need covered and what happened before. I match it to the companies that take it, down to the last-resort plan if it comes to that. I'm licensed in 48 states and Washington, DC and your request stays with my agency, not passed to another agent. In Florida and Washington, where my licenses are still being issued, a partner agency in your state helps in the meantime.
Tell me when your policy renews and I’ll email you about six weeks before, when it’s worth comparing. One email, no calls.
