MA Division of Insurance 'Licensed Or Approved Companies' workbook dated October 1, 2026 (sheet XLSX_Approved_Worksheet, 2717 rows across 23 company types). admitted = licensed insurers only: types Property & Casualty, Life, Accident & Health, Title, Fraternal, Health Maintenance Organization, Hospital (M&D) Service Plan (850 Property & Casualty; filter on type). Left out: TPAs, risk purchasing groups, risk retention groups, accredited/certified/reciprocal reinsurers, PBMs, service contract providers and other non-insurer registrants. The master file carries no domicile, lines of authority or license date; its State column is the mailing address, not domicile. domicile is 'MA' only for companies on the DOI's Domestic P&C list, else blank. lines come from the DOI's per-designation lists (Auto Liability 6G, Workers' Compensation 6E, Fidelity & Surety 4G) and are partial: a P&C company with no lines here may still hold other designations. surplus_lines = company types 'Surplus Lines' and 'Reinsurer/Surplus Lines'; eligible date not published; alien inferred (Lloyd's of London or non-US address) since the file gives no domicile. Source list page: https://www.mass.gov/lists/massachusetts-licensed-insurance-companies. "Premium" is direct premium written in the state for the year shown; "share" is that company's part of the state total for the line. A company can be licensed for a line and write none of it, and a surplus lines insurer can write a line without a state license for it.

Need commercial property (fire and allied lines) in Massachusetts?

Someone will insure it. I find who.

Send what you need covered and what happened before. I match it to the companies that take it, down to the last-resort plan if it comes to that. I'm licensed in 48 states and Washington, DC and your request stays with my agency, not passed to another agent. In Florida and Washington, where my licenses are still being issued, a partner agency in your state helps in the meantime.
