Source: the Tennessee insurance regulator company list, read 2026-10-18 and the surplus lines list. TDCI List of Licensed Companies (DataTable JSON feed; page says 'As of September 30, 2026'). admitted = rows with STATUS_REASON 'Licensed' of every COMPANY_TYPE except SURPLUS LINES; the list mixes P&C with life/health/title/fraternal/HMO/captive/county mutual, so 'type' is kept as given (filter type == 'PROPERTY' for admitted P&C). No lines of authority are published; 'lines' is always []. 'since' is empty for licensed rows (STATUS_DATE is only populated for suspended/restricted companies). surplus_lines = COMPANY_TYPE 'SURPLUS LINES' with STATUS_REASON 'Eligible' (foreign/US insurers only; TN keeps no alien list and defers to the NAIC IID Quarterly Listing, so alien is false for every row). Risk retention groups ('Registered') and accredited/trusteed/certified/reciprocal-jurisdiction reinsurers are not admitted direct writers and were left out. "Premium" is direct premium written in the state for the year shown; "share" is that company's part of the state total for the line. A company can be licensed for a line and write none of it, and a surplus lines insurer can write a line without a state license for it.

Need credit in Tennessee?

Someone will insure it. I find who.

Send what you need covered and what happened before. I match it to the companies that take it, down to the last-resort plan if it comes to that. I'm licensed in 48 states and Washington, DC and your request stays with my agency, not passed to another agent. In Florida and Washington, where my licenses are still being issued, a partner agency in your state helps in the meantime.
